An Associate position at Newion is a challenging next career step for someone interested in taking on more responsibilities in the deal team and with portfolio management, while sharpening their investor mind and thinking. In essence, mastering the job means being able to independently assist in deal sourcing, help deals through a full investment process together with a Partner, and nurture the post-deal process with project-based analysis and reporting on portfolio companies. You participate in the full cycle!

With more than €300M total assets under management in the portfolio, with the fourth fund we currently invest an additional €120M in the European startup ecosystem.

Job requirements

Job tasks:

  • Assist in deal sourcing.

  • Perform market research and formulate related investment theses.

  • Support  your deal team  in due diligence activities and deal execution.

  • Perform and support portfolio company projects, analysis and reporting.

  • Build a strong understanding of B2B SaaS companies, markets and emerging technologies

  • Support with specific responsibilities and tasks assigned to you such as: financial reporting, marketing, compliance or operational tasks.

Requirements:

  • 2-3 years of relevant professional work experience.

  • Intellectual curiosity. Hard-working. Committed. 

  • Structured thinking, proof of well-developed analytical skills

  • Knowledge of either accounting, IT products, technology or software sales.

  • Highly motivated and self-driven 

  • Strong communication skills.

  • High degree of integrity.

  •  Proficient to advanced skills with MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook) or Google Sheets & Docs.

  • Fluent in English.

  • Ability to work from the Amsterdam office. We’re an “office first” workplace.

  • Ability to work legally in the EU. 

This role is based at our Amsterdam office, in the EU.

We consider candidates from a wide range of backgrounds. Fitting in the team is the most important requirement. The selection process will be in 3 steps:

  1. A 30-minutes online interview of pre-selected candidates.

  2. With a number of candidates we will progress with  an in-depth interview & case study.

  3. With two candidates a final interview will be held with additional members of the Newion team.
